PDA Tracking
The PDA tracking software is implemented in 'C' to allow complete control over every aspect of the tracking event. This was necessary to control the battery usage of the tracker and to stop it interferring with normal user usage.
If this device is in sleep mode when a track is required it only wakes up the required parts of the device to perform the tracking i.e. GPS. If a quality fix is found before the timeout specified then we use that and shutdown to conserve power.
After a successfull track the tracker calls another program to send the latest tracks to the GPSTrail web service. This program also only turns on enough to send the data and then sleeps again.
